With more than 25 years in the airline industry, Guillermo is responsible for Business Development in Latin America for Airline MRO Parts (AMP). Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, he is responsible for the development and execution of AMP’ s short- and long-term commercial strategy, as related to third party customers for the region.
Guillermo joined TACA International Airlines in 1996 with the merger of all Central American carriers. He served in several Network, Fleet, Revenue Management and Strategic Planning positions before setting up the foundations of the carrier’s first Alliances organization where he led multi-million-dollar revenue budgets. Guillermo has also served as part of Star Alliance´s Management Board.
From airline alliances, commercial execution, distribution and sales, Guillermo has supported as a consultant more than 3 airlines and several Silicon Valley technology startups throughout his career, including two major mergers and complex regulatory negotiations.
Guillermo holds a Bachelor`s in Business Administration specializing in International Business and Marketing, and executive education from Harvard Business School, Universidad de Los Andes, University of Louisville, and the International Air Transport Association´s (IATA) Training Academy, of which he is also an instructor.
Guillermo is based in San Salvador, Central America where he spends his free time with his family and practicing kart racing, having achieved El Salvador´s National Championship and Runner Up on several occasions both as a driver and as his two son’s racing team manager.
